Born in Forest City in 1968, Christine Branstad received a bachelor of science from the University of Iowa in 1991 and a juris doctorate from Drake University Law School in 1994. She is licensed to practice law in Iowa, as well as the District of Columbia.
Christine joined Kreamer Law Firm P.C. in 2009, where she practices primarily in litigation. Her background includes work in litigation management and as a corporate counsel.
In Christine’s office, there are two types of lawyers.
“Happy lawyers” are the attorneys who help form business entities, do mergers and acquisitions and restructure businesses, and get invited to ribbon cuttings and grand openings. Their clients bring plates of cookies and other tokens of appreciation.
Christine is the other kind of lawyer.
Clients bring her frantic phone calls and bushels of tears. She’s a litigator. If you need to see Christine, you have been wronged or someone is accusing you of wronging them. Winning a lawsuit is fun for her, but staying out of a lawsuit is better business for you. The focus of her blog posts is to help you to avoid having to pay her a visit.
Christine is a member of the Polk County and Iowa State Bar Associations and has achieved the status of Master of the Bench in the Blackstone Inn of Court. She also served as section chair of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division from 1996-1997, was the assistant editor of the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers Trial Handbook Supplement, published in 1993, and coached the Iowa State University mock trial team from 1995-2002.
She also sits on the board of directors for The Heart Connection and Iowa Independent Schools Tuition Organization.
Her time outside the office is spent watching sports from pee wee to pro.
