Emilee is a native of Clarinda, and a graduate of Drake University, where she remains involved by connecting with and mentoring students. She has worked in nonprofit public relations and marketing since 2009.
Emilee is passionate not only about marketing, but also about spreading a love of learning, which makes SCI a natural fit. Her job involves creative project management, media relations and social media as well as helping to maintain SCI's brand messaging.
After becoming involved with YPC in 2010, Emilee served as the organization's social media coordinator from 2011-2012. She was then elected into the 3-year presidency, where she will serve as president-elect in 2013, president in 2014 and past-president in 2015. Emilee believes strongly in YPC's role in Greater Des Moines and looks forward to increasing awareness of YPC not just as a recognizable acronym, but as a valued community asset.
Emilee also is active in the Des Moines Art Center's Art Noir and with the American Marketing Association. She can occasionally be found moonlighting as a barista at Smokey Row or climbing the walls at Climb Iowa.
